Starting today, Tuesday, January 15, 2025, HELB will transfer upkeep funds directly into students’ bank accounts.
This process applies specifically to students whose batch numbers indicate “Paid to Account” and whose loan status reads “Disbursement in Progress” on the Student Portal.
For these groups, the tuition loan component has already been disbursed, with the funds now reflecting in their respective institutional accounts.
Understanding the HELB Loan Disbursement Process
Before releasing loans, HELB assigns batch numbers to students.
These batch numbers help track and manage loan applications, ensuring systematic distribution.
Students are advised to regularly check their loan status to verify whether their funds have been processed.

- Ensure that your loan application was approved and accepted within the HELB portal.
- Confirm that you have provided the correct banking details to avoid payment delays.
- Check your institution’s finance office to verify if the tuition component has been credited to the school account.

As disbursements continue, those awaiting payments should remain patient while keeping track of updates on their Student Portal accounts.
