Apply for a Replacement Certificate
Acquire Necessary Documents: If your school closed down, acquire a letter from the Provincial Director of Education or District Education Officer.
Fill the Replacement Form: Fill the KNEC certificate replacement form.
Pay the Processing Fee: Pay the processing fee, which is KES 5220, through M-Pesa.
Submit the Application: Submit the filled form and necessary documents to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) through their Query Management Information System (QMIS).
Wait for Processing: After submitting the application, wait for the processing to be completed, which usually takes about 15 working days.

Collect the Certificate: Once the certificate is availed for collection, visit the KNEC office with your valid identification document or passport to collect it.
It’s important to note that the replacement for a lost KCSE certificate is issued only once.
The process may also require a letter of recommendation from the headteacher of the school attended, a sworn affidavit on the identity of the applicant, a letter of recommendation from the employer to KNEC, and a police abstract indicating the loss of the certificate
