The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC) is a body corporate established under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Act No. 29 of 2013 in Kenya.
The council is mandated to undertake the design and development of curricula for training institutions, examination, assessment, and competence certification.

It also advises the government on policy interventions related to these functions. TVET CDACC’s role is to develop respective trade competence as per the TVET Act 2013, which can be used for training.
What is the role of tvet cdacc in kenya’s education system
The council has the following eight functions:
- Undertake design and development of curricula for the training institutions’ examination, assessment, and competence certification.
- Make rules with respect to such examinations and competence assessments.
- Issue certificates to candidates who satisfy the national TVET examination and competence assessment requirements.
- Promote recognition of its qualifications in foreign systems.
- Investigate and determine cases involving indiscipline by candidates registered with it.
- Promote and carry out research relating to its examinations.
- Promote the publication of books and other materials relevant to its examinations.
- Anything incidental or conducive to the performance of any of the preceding functions.
TVET CDACC also carries out registration and accreditation of different parties, including assessment centers, curriculum developers, assessors, and verifiers. These professionals and institutions work with TVET CDACC to implement the curriculum.
Assessment centers can be universities, National polytechnics, technical training institutions, vocational centers, private colleges, and any other center that wants to offer CDACC courses.
