Not KNEC-examined. Institution certificate only. Good for fast income entry or skill top-ups.
Artisan Certificate: 1 Year
Duration: approximately 1 academic year (10–12 months full-time). Entry: KCPE. KNEC-examined. Basic beauty treatments, introductory makeup, basic nails, skincare fundamentals. Entry-level employment qualification. Starting income: KSh 12,000–20,000/month.
Craft Certificate: 2 Years
Duration: approximately 2 academic years full-time. Entry: KCSE D+. KNEC-examined Year 1 and Year 2. Comprehensive beauty therapy — facials, advanced nails (gel, acrylic, nail art), professional makeup, body treatments, hairdressing components, and business basics. Standard qualification for hotel spa and formal employment. Starting income: KSh 20,000–40,000/month.
Diploma: 2–3 Years
Duration: 2–3 academic years. Entry: KCSE C- or Craft Certificate equivalent. Advanced treatments, spa management, advanced product knowledge, client consultation, business management. Highest TVET level for beauty. Opens management and international roles. Starting income: KSh 40,000–80,000/month.
Part-Time Options
Evening and Saturday beauty programs are available at many private and some government institutions. Part-time extends duration by approximately 50–100% — a 2-year Craft Certificate takes 3–4 years part-time. Practical assessment requirements mean you cannot eliminate physical attendance; confirm scheduling feasibility before enrolling.
