Zetech University is one of Kenya’s most affordable CUE-accredited private universities. Here is everything prospective students need to know.
About Zetech University
Zetech University is a CUE-accredited private university in Kenya with campuses in Ruiru (main headquarters), Thika Road (Nairobi), and other locations. Established from Zetech College which began in 1998, Zetech offers degree and diploma programmes at significantly lower fees than major private universities like Strathmore and USIU while maintaining CUE accreditation. The university is particularly strong in ICT, business management, hospitality, and media studies — areas it has delivered since its college days. Zetech degrees are recognized by Kenya’s professional bodies and employers.
Courses Available at Zetech University
Degree programmes at Zetech: ICT and Computing — BSc in Computer Science, BSc in Information Technology, BSc in Business Information Technology. Fee Structure
Zetech University fees are among the most affordable for a CUE-accredited private university in Kenya: degree programmes range from approximately KSh 60,000–120,000 per year depending on the specific programme. Diploma programmes are proportionally lower. HELB loans are available for eligible Zetech students — confirm the current HELB eligible institution status with HELB directly. Zetech also offers flexible payment arrangements allowing instalments throughout the semester rather than full upfront payment — a practical advantage for students managing tight finances.

Student Life at Zetech
Zetech University has a relatively compact campus community compared to large public universities. Student life features: active student government, sports activities, industry guest lectures particularly in ICT and business, and a career services office that facilitates internship placements. The Ruiru campus has on-campus accommodation for a limited number of students. Most Zetech students commute, taking advantage of the Thika Road campus’s accessibility from Nairobi’s eastlands and Thika areas. Zetech’s industry connections, particularly in ICT, mean guest lecture and industry visit opportunities are more frequent than at some larger but more bureaucratic institutions.
